Hello! My name is Nithya (nith-ya) Karpagavinayagam and it is my goal to cultivate a warm, supportive, safe place for your healing and growth. As your therapist, it is my job to support you as you overcome your barriers, doubts, and anxieties and resolve old habits and patterns that are no longer working for you.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a background in neuroscience. I received my clinical training at Northeastern Illinois University. I am fluent in English and Tamil.
I enjoy working with adults of all ages, college students, perfectionists, LGBTQ+ individuals, couples and people in CNM relationships. I have experience working with anxiety, complex trauma, depression, low self-esteem, parenting concerns, life transitions, career concerns, and relationship concerns.
I am a holistic, trauma-informed, multi-culturally-competent clinician. I utilize evidence-based approaches such as EMDR and brainspotting for trauma, Gottman and EFT for people in relationships, and mindfulness-based stress-reduction techniques.
