I am a licensed clinical professional counselor who received my degree in mental health counseling from Northeastern Illinois University. Throughout my career, I have gained experience in working with individuals with mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, PTSD and complex trauma, relationship issues, psychosis, substance use, suicidal ideation, eating disorders, and self-injury.
I am a DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy) therapist and I have extensive training and experience in providing this type of therapy. I have found that DBT is extremely valuable for individuals who struggle with a variety of issues and that most people could benefit from this type of therapy and skill building. It provides individuals with concrete skills to tolerate distress, regulate emotions, and improve interpersonal effectiveness. I have also found that DBT and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy) fit very well together to form a very well-rounded and eclectic therapy experience.
I am an LGBTQAI+ affirming and sex positive therapist who will work very hard to provide you with a nonjudgmental space to allow for safe self-expression while processing and gaining an understanding of behaviors, thought patterns, and core beliefs. My goal is to help you gain the skills to live a meaningful life, whatever that means for you.
