More about Paul Nelson, PT
Paul Nelson has over 22 years of experience treating patients for persistent pain, post-operative rehabilitation, conditioning and performance. Paul’s interest in movement and skill acquisition started with a love of cycling and running. He has developed this passion into clinical expertise, grounded by research and guided by the psychology of performance and pain perception. Certified in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT), Paul is able to help patients with a variety of spine conditions, injuries and movement dysfunctions, from complex to straightforward. As a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and coach at the semi-pro and amatuer levels, Paul designs athletic programming and rehabilitation programs which has helped others achieve their sports goals.
As an award-winning adjunct instructor at AT Still University in Mesa, AZ, Paul lectures on musculoskeletal conditions, mindfulness and performance attributes. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Integrated Health Sciences, researching optimal communication between clinicians and patients, assessment and treatment of persistent pain states, and maximizing human performance.
