About Phillip Veatch
Phil Veatch is the founder of Arizona Sports Medicine PLLC, a highly specialized healthcare provider, and business owner. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Eastern Washington University, which he earned in 2009. After moving to Arizona in 2010, he gained experience in physical therapy, becoming certified as a Corrective Exercise Specialist. He designed and led physical therapy protocols that are now utilized in multiple states across the country.
In 2011, Phil shifted his focus to teaching physical therapy technology before pursuing his Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Arizona School of Health Sciences at AT Still University. After completing his medical training, he received specialty training in orthopedic spine surgery for nine months, participating in over 100 revision spine surgery procedures.
Phil's passion for procedural medicine led him to take a position at a local level 1 trauma ER, where he honed his procedure skills with over 10,000 patients. He then took a position as the sole medical provider in a large integrated physical medicine office, where he managed diagnosis, medications, referrals, physical therapy, imaging, and office-based procedures, working alongside interventional spine physicians, pain management specialists, orthopedics and Chiropractic providers.
In 2020, Phil became a founding member and Chief Operating Officer of Optimize You Performance Medicine, leading the development of medical operations and building the practice from its inception to full establishment by the end of 2022. He then established Arizona Sports Medicine to continue advancing ultrasound-driven musculoskeletal diagnostics and in-office regenerative medical procedures, as well as to manage pain through cutting-edge medical methods and a bio-psycho-social approach to injury.
Phil is a husband, father of 2, a former professional athlete, and avid OCR racer.

Filled out my appointment on a Sunday night and finished all forms. 8 days later was my appointment that I was extremely eager to attend. On my 30 minute drive to my appointment I received a random voicemail (phone didn’t ring for whatever reason) and it was the office trying to call me. It was around 1045am they called and my appointment was at 1130am. I called back immediately and no answer. We ended up playing phone tag a couple of times and by the time I finally talked to someone I was parked outside their building so I just walked inside instead of calling back. Come to find out my insurance was not accepted without a referral. This was news to me. Why am I being called 45 minutes before my appointment and not a day before or sooner? Why was this not verified before I waste my time. I’m sure the provider knows what he’s doing but his staff certainly doesn’t.

Walking in I already knew I liked the place. The exterior is great, the inside is very welcoming. The staff is very kind and easy to talk to. The doctor is very nice, he knew right away what was going on. Very knowledgable. Even before I got to parking lot after appt, I had already had my referral to hand surgeon.

Terrible front staff... I got in at 1:05... wasn't talked To by the doctor until 2:10. My appointment was 1:15. The front staff gentleman smelled so strong of weed. Never ever EVER coming back.

I had a disappointing experience with this doctor. They didn’t take the time to listen to my concerns and quickly prescribed medication without addressing how it might interact with my existing issues. When I asked for clarification about the diagnosis, I received little to no explanation. It felt rushed and dismissive rather than a thoughtful, patient-centered approach. I wouldn’t recommend this provider if you’re looking for someone who genuinely listens and works with you on your health.

Absolutely incredible care, start to finish. Athletes: THIS IS WHERE YOU NEED TO BE! The entire team is dedicated to 1) not wasting your time (my knee was under an ultrasound within five minutes of being in the office), 2) working with your insurance to make sure all testing and care can happen affordably, 3) deeply acknowledging mind-body connection and the importance of mental PT alongside physical PT, and 4) keeping us out of surgery by all means necessary (an athlete's dream). I'm beyond grateful for the expertise, the kindness, the speed, the inhouse, on site equipment, all of it. This is by far my greatest experience with doctors and specialists for injury, and I'm still at the beginning of the process. Thank you!

Such a knowledgeable doctor! Was able to pinpoint my injury with accuracy and clearly explain next steps I could take on my part for a clean recovery. Super nice also, and we were able to do a shock wave treatment on my first appointment as well to speed up healing which was unexpected, but I was grateful for!
