My style is using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and discussing current stressors, identifying triggers and core beliefs that cause distortions, looking at what you can and cannot change, using Distress Tolerance and a Wise Mind as well as setting boundaries and using assertive communication. I also support clients who choose to use their faith as a coping tool and incorporate prayer and seeking guidance from a higher power if that is important to them. I assist clients in identifying resources in the community and other support systems to help them reach their goals.
