“I wondered if an out-of-network provider was any better than an in-network-provider. What did I find? Ray Delacruz at Clutch Physical Therapy is a star and worth every penny plus the extra time it took me to travel to him. Ray's "functional approach" prepared me to return to all the activities I love. Don't make a mistake and think physical therapy is a commodity, it isn't. Go see Ray and the team at Clutch Physical Therapy and you will be thankful you did!”

“I have had a fantastic experience with Clutch Physical Therapy and with Ray in particular. Most recently I was dealing with neck and shoulder pain that was preventing me from playing tennis. Ray was able to address the problem and teach me proper exercises to strengthen the area. I have been able to get back out on the tennis court and play pain-free. I also worked with Ray on a previous occasion after dealing with a long stretch of foot pain following a stress fracture. Ray helped to address the issue and retrain my gait to prevent future problems. Ray is extremely knowledgeable, attentive, and a pleasure to interact with. I highly recommend Ray and Clutch PT to anyone. ”

About Raymond Delacruz

NEW PATIENTS PLEASE REVIEW: We are an entirely self pay office. Our typical rates can vary based on your treatment needs but you can expect out of pocket costs to be $265- $215 Please note, your insurance reimbursement will vary based on your deductible and we will be happy to chat through details with you! Even though his family moved all over the country while he was growing up because his father was in the U.S. Coast Guard, Raymond Delacruz played every sport he could — soccer, wrestling, flag football, volleyball and softball. Being uprooted regularly taught him how to make new friends and relate to people easily — a skill he carried into his career as a physical therapist. Raymond really gets to know his patients as whole human beings, and values the opportunity for one-on-one care here at Clutch PT. After rehabbing from various sports injuries in high school, Raymond knew he was destined to become a physical therapist. He earned his Master’s in Rehabilitation Science/Physical Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina and is fellowship trained in orthopedics and manual physical therapy through the Manual Therapy Institute. As such, he is now a recognized Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. Ray is also pursuing his Doctorate in Education from the University of St. Augustine for the Health Science. He believes strongly in the benefits of life-long learning and professional development, as evidenced by his numerous certifications and desire to share his knowledge with his patients and colleagues. (Ask him about the current “Muscle of the Week”!) He is humbled to have a hand in his patients’ success, and feels greater pride in their accomplishments than his own.

Really went in to understand my current situation and provide a path to a solution.

Excellent physical therapy visit
I researched every PT in upper east side when I stumbled upon Clutch therapy. Raymond has been my PT since I was placed into a cam boot for a partial tear in my ankle. I knew my diagnosis going in and I came out understanding exactly what I needed to do to get better. As a young active person my injury was frustrating. Ray was extremely knowledgeable and explained my injury every step of the way. Not only does he evaluate the injury but the whole body’s mechanics. After seeing plenty of doctors, Raymond was someone I could trust. He gave me hope and confidence as I became stronger. I highly recommend anyone recovering from an injury to see Raymond. He is an expert in the field and has a holistic approach to his care. I am so grateful to have found Clutch PT. Along with Raymond, the clutch family is welcoming and supportive. The space is private and also has a gym. This was my second PT through my recovery I can say I felt a world of a difference. You feel like a real person not just a patient at Clutch.
I've been seeing Ray for almost two months now, weekly. I had a nagging pain in my leg that prevented me from sleeping at night, which has been close to completely alleviated in the short time we've been working together. Ray is smart, thorough and a pleasure to be around. I'd recommend him and Clutch PT to anyone looking to rehabilitate from an injury.
I started PT with Ray to address knee pain that I was experiencing when running. Ray addressed the issue not just at the site of pain but surrounding weaknesses contributing to it. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly which made the experience enjoyable. I’d recommend Ray to anyone looking for a great PT.
I've thoroughly enjoyed and benefitted from my sessions with Ray over the past couple months for shoulder and hamstring problems. When I initially reached out in January I spoke to Julie via email and over the phone, and she was immensely helpful in figuring out whether my insurance would cover sessions. Unfortunately my insurance did not cover the cost, but Clutch offered a nice five-pack that helped to reduce the per session cost. Ray did a thorough evaluation during our first session and I felt he really understood my mechanics and the reasons why I was experiencing the pains I had. He does a great job of explaining how the exercises he prescribes target and improve my weak areas. I would absolutely recommend Ray and Clutch PT overall!
Clutch PT and Ray are absolutely amazing! Ray is so knowledgeable about what athletes (and wanna-be athletes like myself) need to do to strengthen the muscles that are necessary to work out pain-free. I saw Ray once a week for about 4 months and he was able to show me which exercises I needed to do at home, help create more mobility in my shoulder and ultimately aide my recovery from injury. I've been to other PTs in the past for a variety of injuries, and Clutch is the best of the bunch. Clutch also takes its COVID protocols seriously - temperature checks, hand sanitizer, masking and limiting the number of people in the facility. I highly recommend Ray and Clutch PT.
Ray has a way of translating his intricate knowledge into bite sized, accessible lessons. In this way, he helps you understand why you might be in pain, and what you can do to avoid it in the future. In addition to these little lessons, his hands on technique is absolutely amazing for melting away muscle tension.
Ray is the BEST! He is really so focused on getting his patients back into shape and taking the pain away. Has a great sense of humor also!
Ray was very knowledgeable, attentive, communicative and gave a great physical therapy experience. He assessed my issues and put an organized rehab strategy together for me. As a fitness professional myself, I valued the time he spent with me and will continue to see Ray to address my future needs.
Ray is the utmost professional and takes his craft seriously as he is constantly learning. Ray is a master analyzer of movement, explains his assessment in a way that’s easy to understand, makes you feel like an active participant in your care, and will do everything in his power to give you the tools to succeed. You go to see Ray for his manual therapy prowess, but you stay for his kindness, compassion, and unyielding dedication to helping you reach your goals. Ray has helped me stay pain-free while lifting weights and recommend him with every fiber of my being.
My sessions with Ray have been great. He is so knowledgeable explaining why I am experiencing the pain and how each of the therapy techniques is addressing the issue. The home exercises are also very helpful in strengthening the area and preventative so the injury hopefully won't happen again. Highly Recommend!
My Physical Therapy sessions with Ray helped me not only recover quickly, but also helped stay injury free! He made sure to tell me why we were doing the exercises we were doing and explained how to avoid further injury so I could take that knowledge and apply it outside of our Physical Therapy sessions. He is incredibly knowledgable, kind, and caring. I would - and have - recommend him to my friends or anyone seeking a PT!
Ray listens to ALL your probs with your bod and addresses everything thoroughly. He won’t let you do too much too soon but he will take into account what your goals are. He attacks my issues from all different angles if I’m not showing the improvement I should be and we’ve had great results. See Ray at Clutch today!!
Ray is basically a magician! I woke up unable to walk without severe low back pain and hobbled my to the clinic. After a conversation about what I'd been doing to myself (pushing 2 kids in a jogging stroller followed by a strength circuit involving *maybe* too many weighted reverse lunges) and a full body movement assessment, he determined that the source of my pain was actually my SI joint and a rotated hip. He performed a distraction technique and unlocked everything! I walked (practically skipped!) out without any pain at all and felt better than I had in months. He set me straight, then got me on a program to follow to continue addressing my issues. He was extremely thorough, equally knowledgable and impressively skilled. (I'm admittedly picky!) Highly recommend Ray and the Clutch PT team!
