Hello! My name is Rebecca Jones, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois. I support my clients with a strengths-based approach along with solutions-based therapy. I find that working with clients to find their own strength has been very successful in my past work.
My approach
I work with clients using strengths-based, solution-focused, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
My focus
I work as a full-time school social worker in an elementary school. I have a lot of experience with children. I also have extensive experience working with middle-aged clients from previous work.
My communication style
I am laid back, it takes a lot to ruffle my feathers or surprise me. I have been told I am very easy to talk to because of my calm presence.
My journey to mental healthcare
I became interested in social work when I was in high school. I worked with a young child who had autism and enjoyed working with her regularly. I went into social work to give myself options to work with different populations including children with autism. I specialized in school social work, but have become a licensed therapist along the way. I spent 10 years working as a therapist in different settings including the correctional system and residential treatment centers.
My goals for you
Goal setting is a large part of my treatment process. We have to know where we're going to start the treatment. We look at a client's current situation and look at what the next logical step is. Goal setting is fluid and they changes frequently to make regular, measurable, and obtainable progress and success.
My first session with you
First sessions I like to spend time getting to know the client and just getting comfortable with each other. We learn each other's communication styles and set early goals.
