My focus
I work with a variety of people depending on their therapy needs and whether I have the skills to support their issues. I am open-minded and do not judge anyone for their life circumstances.
My communication style
Listening is the most useful skill for a therapist. This is a safe space for you to talk and be truly heard. Therapy is a collaborative process, and you are in the driver's seat.
My journey to mental healthcare
I started working in social services in 1999 doing HIV/AIDS prevention in Southern California. I gravitated toward helping people and working in the community. After moving back to NYC, I returned to school and earned my Master's in Social Work from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College in 2016. While working as a case manager for mental health housing programs, I gained valuable experience. From 2016 to 2021, I worked in mental health and the criminal legal system, providing psychotherapy evenings and weekends while earning hours for my LCSW. In 2022, I served as team leader for NYC's first youth assertive community team, a mobile mental health team serving youth with severe behavioral health issues in Brooklyn. Currently, I hold a senior leadership role with a NYS Office of Mental Health-supported housing programs provider and maintain a private practice with 10-20 clients. Therapy allows me to work directly with people, meet them where they are, and help them navigate their life experiences.

Treatment planning is person-centered and client-driven. People often face multiple life stresses, and I work with you to prioritize your needs and goals.
