Richard Karpe has been practicing psychoanalysis and psychotherapy for over 30 Years in NYC, first in Greenwich Village and now in midtown on the East Side. His colleagues hold him in high esteem for his distinctive approach to practicing psychoanalysis, "Experience has taught me that each person is unique and must be listened to in an open non-judgmental manner focusing on the singularity of their own life.”
Mr. Karpe has had extensive training in psychoanalysis and psychotherapy he has worked with renown psychoanalysts in Buenos Aries, Venice, Paris and New York. This has enabled him to treat a wide range of issues ranging from childhood problems, traumatic experiences, substance abuse, marital conflicts, depression and anxiety and complex life circumstances.
Mr. Karpe is a training analyst, past President of Council for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and Board member of The American Psychoanalytic Association for Clinical Social Workers. He lectures and teaches at many psychoanalytic institutes in NYC.
