Getting to know Sabrina Bain

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who works with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related concerns, stress, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, and relationship difficulties. My approach is person-centered, collaborative, and trauma-informed, with a focus on creating a supportive environment where clients feel heard, respected, and emotionally safe. I believe therapy should be individualized to each client’s needs and paced in a way that feels manageable and supportive. My goal is to help clients develop insight, strengthen coping skills, improve emotional wellbeing, and work toward meaningful and lasting change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients often come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, uncertain, or hesitant about where to begin. My goal is to create a calm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable showing up as they are without pressure to have everything figured out immediately. I value authenticity, trust, and building a strong therapeutic relationship. I strive to provide a supportive and collaborative environment where clients feel safe exploring difficult emotions, experiences, and patterns at a pace that feels emotionally manageable for them.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During our first sessions, we will spend time getting to know one another and discussing what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, and your goals for treatment. I may ask questions about your personal history, emotional experiences, coping patterns, relationships, and any previous counseling experiences to better understand how to support you. As therapy progresses, sessions may focus on increasing self-awareness, processing emotions and experiences, developing coping strategies, improving communication and boundaries, and working toward goals that are meaningful to you. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and individualized to each client’s unique needs and experiences. I view my role in therapy as walking alongside clients as a guide throughout their therapeutic journey. Rather than telling clients what they should do, I strive to help them explore their experiences, build insight, and make decisions that feel authentic and meaningful to them.
