Sarah Barninka received her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Long Island University in 2012. Her desire to help people and love of biology motivated Sarah to join the field of occupational therapy. Sarah works with clients of all ages, including infants and geriatrics, carrying out assessments and creating individualized treatment plans. She has worked with children with varying diagnoses, focusing on fine/gross motor delays, attention issues, visual motor and perceptual difficulties, executive functioning challenges, and sensory processing issues. When working with the adult and geriatric population, Sarah has treated clients with various orthopedic, neurological and musculoskeletal conditions, helping each client gain independence in meaningful, functional activities at home, in school, and throughout the community. She does this through the use of client-centered therapeutic exercises, activities and various manual therapy techniques. Sarah is a passionate clinician, who enjoys providing services in a fun and friendly, yet professional manner. When not working at Refuah, she enjoys photography, cake-decorating, being in nature, and playing chess.
