Hello! My name is Sawyer Kolaczkowski, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I earned my Master's in Clinical and Community Psychology from Western Illinois University, where I also completed my Bachelor's degree. As a non-binary individual, I understand the importance of feeling heard on the path to healing. In my practice, I prioritize creating a compassionate, judgment-free space where clients can feel validated. My approach emphasizes autonomy, self-advocacy, and empowerment throughout the healing process.
I am committed to helping my clients reach their therapeutic goals and take control of their life experiences. I focus heavily on empowering LGBTQ+ individuals and other marginalized communities, while also addressing trauma, anxiety, interpersonal issues, personality disorders, and depression. My therapeutic approach is grounded in cognitive-behavioral and interpersonal frameworks, with a strong emphasis on the healing power of artistic expression.
I believe that the best approach to therapy is to treat clients with nonjudgmental compassion while emphasizing their autonomy. I am open to working with clients presenting a variety of concerns, including experiences of marginalization, anxiety, trauma, depression, and sexual orientation or gender identity exploration.
