Selena Huber, LMSW

Psychotherapist
NY
I work with adults and young adults who feel overwhelmed, stuck in patterns that no longer serve them, or are navigating significant life changes. In therapy, we take time to understand what has shaped you, what may be keeping you in place, and what might need to shift. I believe growth is possible at any stage, and my role is to walk alongside you as you build clarity, steadiness, and self-trust. I have experience supporting individuals navigating mental health conditions, physical and neurological disabilities, and challenges related to housing and resource access. My background includes systems-based work and advocacy, and we can explore how larger systems have shaped your experiences while building both internal skills and practical strategies to navigate them more effectively. I often work with clients experiencing patterns that feel difficult to change, including OCD- and ADHD-related behaviors, substance use, and executive functioning challenges. Together, we focus on developing insight, practical tools, and sustainable change that aligns with your values and environment. I aim to meet you where you are, bringing a calm, grounding presence and space for thoughtful reflection. We can focus on what feels most important to you, at your own pace. I also incorporate somatic awareness—paying attention to how stress, anxiety, and emotions show up in the body—and I prioritize integrating spiritual or personal belief systems when they are important to you. Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, especially if you’re used to handling things on your own. Even if you’re unsure where to begin, recognizing that something in you is ready for more clarity or steadiness is enough to take the first step.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and structured. I integrate CBT, mindfulness-based strategies, and executive functioning skill-building to help you develop clarity, regulation, and sustainable momentum. Together, we focus on strengthening self-trust and self-advocacy, creating a steady, compassionate space where insight can translate into practical, real-world change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I came to this work because I believe no one should have to carry life’s hardest seasons alone. In our sessions, you can expect a grounded, supportive environment where we slow things down, untangle what feels heavy, and build on the resilience that’s already within you. I’ll support you with compassion while also helping you grow in ways that feel empowering, practical, and sustainable.
