Hello - I am a licensed clinical professional counselor (L.C.P.C.) and a licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor (L.C.A.D.C.) with a Master's in Counseling Psychology from Towson University. For the past 23 years, I have been assisting individuals with mental health, behavioral health disorders, and substance use disorders in and around the Baltimore, Maryland area.
I believe that a solid therapeutic relationship and a good sense of humor are critical to exploring some of life's greatest challenges and obstacles. With a little effort and guidance, almost anyone can accomplish almost anything! Please allow me the opportunity to assist you in living your best ?here and now.? By learning to focus on the ?here and now? and inviting mindfulness into your life, you can experience miracles you never thought possible. With time and open-mindedness, almost anyone can learn to decrease the stressors they face not only in day-to-day life but also during transitions and life changes.
I've worked with adolescents, young adults, couples, families, and individuals in a variety of therapeutic settings. One of the reasons I became a counselor is because I could think of no better profession that allows me to sleep well at night, knowing I made the effort to help someone with their issues or difficulties. Horrible experience. Shawn started talking from the moment the appointment began and didn’t shut up until I informed him that I was leaving the session. He didn’t know the first thing about me and was going off about all sorts of nonsense. His behavior seemed erratic and bizarre and I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to learn that he was on some type of stimulant medication.
I was really looking forward to establishing an effective therapeutic relationship, as I am a therapist myself and it’s imperative that I have someone to talk to. It’s sad that this was my experience and i feel bad for the other people that have been forced to go through this.
A therapist’s primary role is to be a LISTENER, and this guy just loved the sound of his own voice too much to be able to function that way.
