Hello! My name is Shirin and I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Texas. I have 7 years of experience working in the mental health field. I have had experience working with a broad range and severity of clinical issues such as Anxiety, Depression, Family/Relationship Conflicts, Life Transitions, Immigrant/Acculturation Issues, and Complex Trauma/Abuse.
My commitment to work in the field of mental health comes from my personal experience with it. After migrating to the USA, I struggled with anxiety, depression, and adjusting to a new environment. I know firsthand how living with mental health difficulties is challenging, frustrated, and lonely and how much life can get easier when you find the right help and warm support.
I use a person-centered, holistic, and integrative approach in treatment. I meet where my clients are and adjust the treatment approach to their needs while being sensitive to individuals’ backgrounds and cultures. I use evidence-based techniques including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, Solution-Focused Counseling, and EFT.
I strongly believe that together we can overcome your current problems, if you take the first step to invest in your wellness, and be patient and consistent in the process of becoming well mentally. I am currently available to provide services to those who need help including teenagers, young adults, and women of all ages. Looking forward to seeing you here.
