More about Stephanie Lindsey, LPC

*Please note if using your insurance it will take 1-2 days to confirm your eligibility and determine any copay. Please schedule at a minimum of 24 hours in advance - thank you!* You are over it! You want to improve your relationships, overcome past hurts, and be in control, but having experienced painful events, you find people and the world unreliable and your needs unmet. You feel both stuck in the past and worried for the future. Expecting and preparing for the worst, while avoiding uncomfortable feelings by staying busy. Painful events from childhood (and adulthood) feel isolating and challenge self-worth. You'd be happier if things changed but staying where you are feels safer. Life can be fun - so why aren’t you having it? Our traumas believe fun & relaxation are the perfect combo for something bad to happen. Cue EMDR. EMDR allows us to return to fun and unlearn the B.S. trauma or family taught us. I believe trauma is the “gateway drug” to all mental conditions. That’s right - anxiety, depression, and relationship problems all stem from it. If you struggle with some or all, and are ok with me sprinkling in some humor, I’d love to help. SPORT PERFORMANCE - Calling all athletes! As an athlete, I know far too well the obstacles we face in and out of sport. We have lofty goals that make us choose our sport over sleep, friends, family, other interests, you know, a life? So, when we retire or keep messing up a skill, what the hell do we do? When flow leaves us in sport, so does fun. We don’t always meet our goals, and for us perfectionists, that is the worst! We get tired, unmotivated, stressed, anxious, injured, or try to get back in flow by using our personally developed tips, tricks, and superstitions. In therapy, we fix these concerns. We identify problems and create goals, which you are already so good at accomplishing, to minimize doubt, anxiety, and mental blocks.
