Hello, My name is Sydney Rucker and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I approach client's with a sense of compassion and empathy to understand their needs. My focus is treating individuals with anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, interpersonal relationships, life transitions, generational trauma, and performance anxiety.
My approach
My approach to treating individuals typically stems from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Expressive Arts, and Psychodynamics. Every client presents uniquely, thus I will tailor my approach to the client's presenting needs.
My focus
I typically work with adults focusing on areas such as perfectionism, supporting life transitions, and developing strong communication skills and healthy boundaries. My goal is to guide clients in cultivating a profound understanding of themselves while equipping them with coping strategies to effectively manage the challenges of everyday life.

My communication style is characterized by warmth, calmness, and a client-centered approach. I create a safe and accepting space where clients are free to express their thoughts and emotions without any fear of judgment or self-censorship. Encouraging open and honest communication is at the core of my therapeutic practice, as it empowers individuals to explore their feelings and experiences authentically, leading to meaningful insights and positive growth
My journey to therapy
My understanding and experience on how mental health impacts our friends, families and interpersonal relationships played a tremendous role in leading to my career in counseling. It's fulfilling to be apart of an individual's journey of growth, self-discovery, and some of their most challenging life events. I take pleasure in supporting and guiding others to a meaningful path of change.
