Hi there, I'm Sylvia! My name is Sylvia Amaral Arquitola, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Hawaii. I was born and raised in Hilo, HI. I believe therapy is most effective when there is a strong working relationship between the therapist and the client. My approach I provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Problem-Solving Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Skills, and supportive therapy to help clients address their mental health concerns and reach their life goals. My focus I have experience working with Veterans and civilians from all backgrounds. I work with diverse populations and help clients with PTSD, anxiety, depression, and impulse control. I also provide supportive therapy to prepare clients to engage in evidence-based therapy and assist clients in making desired changes in their lives using a problem-solving approach. My communication style My goal is for clients to build trust and feel at ease sharing what they need to effectively facilitate changes they deem necessary in their lives. I will not dictate your actions; rather, I will guide you in uncovering your strengths and capabilities that empower you to address your mental health and manage life’s challenges.
