"No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man." – Heraclitus. I love that quote because it reminds me that change is inevitable. I am a Grief and Loss Educator and Counselor specializing in healing loss stemming from broken dreams, broken hearts, and broken relationships. I believe that YOU are the expert in your life, and my job is to come alongside you in discovering your inner strength to find peace and meaning in a world that can be painful and sometimes doesn't make sense.
My name is Tedi Newman, and I'm from a small town in Northeast Tennessee. I was able to travel the world with corporate America before discovering a second career in counseling in my early 40s. Going to graduate school with three kids was challenging and exciting at the same time, teaching me how to be resourceful and resilient. I earned my Master's in Counseling from East Tennessee State University. Since then, I have worked with grief and trauma, domestic violence, foster care, school counseling, individual and couples counseling, military families, and now, private practice.
