Hi, my name is Tuere Williams. I am a licensed mental health therapist with a Master's in Education from the University of Hawaii. I have also worked as a Behavioral Health Specialist, School Counselor, Suicide Prevention Trainer, De-Escalation Trainer, Parent Educational Trainer, and Member of the Crisis Team. My focus is on helping individuals understand who they are and find ways to solve their problems.
My approach
I favor cognitive behavioral theories, psychodynamic approaches, mindfulness, dialectical behavior therapy, person-centered therapy, Adlerian therapy, and narrative therapy.
My focus
My client focus is youth, adolescents, and adults ages 18 to 30 who suffer from ADHD, anger management issues, anxiety, behavioral challenges, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and many more.
My communication style
I provide active listening to my clients, creating a safe and comfortable environment where they can be themselves and express their feelings and thoughts openly. I offer empathy and clear feedback to support their understanding.
My journey to mental healthcare
I became a therapist to help others improve their lives. As an adolescent, I was privileged to have others in my life who helped me navigate life, which has been the most significant experience for me.
My goals for you
I allow clients to take the lead in goal setting because clients must become the leaders of their own lives.
My first session with you
During the first session, clients should expect to share information about themselves and openly ask me questions. The purpose of the first session is to build rapport so clients feel comfortable during future sessions. It is also important to address expectations and reasons for counseling.
