I attended California State University, Chico where I received two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Comparative Religion Studies. To broaden my knowledge and understanding of others, I chose to minor in Family Relations and Gender and Sexuality Studies. I received a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Latino/e/x from Santa Clara University. As a bilingual therapist, I am committed to providing mental health services to monolingual Spanish-speaking patients. My areas of interest include issues related to acculturation stress, trauma, depression, and anxiety. My interest in the field of mental health began at a young age when I witnessed the way people sought my mother, a spiritual individual, for comfort and solace. These experiences imbued in me the value of community, empathy, and service to others. As a therapist, I am able to provide patients with the treatment and tools necessary to navigate difficult emotions. It is an honor to be able to hold a safe space for patients to be vulnerable, safe, and to experience healing.
My philosophy of care is to work alongside my patients while creating an empathic, non-judgmental, and safe space. Patients will find that I provide a warm, authentic, and respectful approach. I believe in working collaboratively with patients to identify and develop the tools necessary for patients to live more fulfilling lives.
