More about Yael Cohn, DPT
Yael earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy, Cum Laude, and Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Science from Northeastern University. During graduate school, she completed research on the treatment of chronic pain using pain neuroscience education and the psychosocial impact of physical therapy intervention on people living with lymphedema.
In her professional career, Yael has experience in acute care, outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine, injury prevention, post-operative rehabilitation and pelvic floor dysfunction. She had the opportunity to practice abroad, completing clinical work at the Olympic Center in Israel where she helped both amateur and professional athletes return to sport. Yael earned her Pelvic Floor 1 certification through Herman and Wallace and is passionate about women’s health and pelvic floor rehabilitation.
Growing up in San Francisco, Yael was active in competitive soccer and dance, as well as recreational skiing. After sustaining multiple injuries playing soccer in high school, she developed an interest in physical therapy through her own experience with post-injury rehabilitation. This experience taught Yael the importance of empowering her patients to be their own best advocates, while also guiding them back to the activities they love. She now continues to stay active through strength training, dance classes, skiing and hiking. In her free time, Yael enjoys traveling, craft projects and spending time with friends and family.
