Dr. Adam Merriam was born in Stony Brook NY and raised on Long Island. He graduated from Stony Brook University with a Bachelor’s degree in Basic Sciences and a major in Biology in 2003. It was during his undergraduate studies where he was guided into the healthcare field volunteering as an assistant at an oral surgeon’s office in long island. Dr Merriam then went onto attend NYU college of dentistry. While attending NYU, he was chosen twice to join outreach programs in both the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua providing dental services to third world areas most in need of oral care. He was also a member of the Periodontics Honor Society in his final year of his program. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University School of Dentistry in 2008. In 2009, he completed a General Practice Residency in Dentistry at North Shore University Hospital, where he was chosen to attend a third outreach dental program providing dental care for those in need in Haiti. It was during his general practice residency spending countless hours observing and assisting Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons in the operating room, where he decided to go on to his current field. He went on to complete 4 years of surgical training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center/The Albert Einstein School of Medicine. Upon completion of his residency in 2014, Dr. Merriam entered into private practice in New York City. Dr. Merriam is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial surgeons. American College of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, New York State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons, New York State Dental Association, and New York County Dental Society. In his spare time Dr Merriam enjoys going to concerts, playing guitar and going skiing in the northeast.
