“I've had 6 dentists and orthodontists in the past six years. Top of the line in their professions.. But times are tough, I've had to tighten my belt. So I went with a nearby Orthodontist covered by my insurance, Scott Rothenberg. He was easy to talk to, he wasn't in a rush, and we agreed on the spot, rather than double charge me for a consultation visit and another visit, that we could pull the tooth today. With that decision he proved he was on my side not the insurance company side and he earned my trust. He also didn't upsell me by saying I should sleep during the procedure. I had local anesthetic and the procedure was quick and painless. And inexpensive. Scott's got a genuine bedside manner- he asks questions and listens. My past Ortho talked and talked about himself a lot and I was his audience. I found Scott's manner a pleasant alternative..And I will be back. I trust him and that is very important, but often elusive, to establish between patient and doctor. I recommend his practice.”

I hate going to the dentist. But as such things go. This was a more tolerable situation than most.

They wanted my credit card to keep on file which is illegal if I don't consent. They also told me that the deep cleaning was covered by my insurance but when I went in they tried to charge me the full amount. They said they checked it two days before my appointment and saw it wasn't covered so I asked why they didn't call me so I could cancel and they kept trying to talk in circles and get me to pay for the deep cleaning. I think this is unethical and I ended up leaving. I asked if a regular cleaning could be done and they said maybe but I am going to schedule that with a regular dentist.

The office double booked my slot with another patient. It’s one thing for schedules to get backed up. I get it. It’s another thing when no one’s keeping track of appointments. Doctors’ and patients’ time a an office is valuable
I’d recommend waiting until after COVID-19 social distancing rules ease. My first appointment with Expert Dental was during COVID-19 and I felt pretty unsafe as I waited to be attended. There were too many people in a tight space waiting to see one of the doctors and they seemed to be operating at full speed with full staff in a cramped area. In the 30 mins I waited there were about 8-10 people in the waiting space and a few others coming in and out. As I was filling out my paperwork I decided I couldn’t go through with the appointment and left. I thought there was simply no way that they could sanitize and clean the rooms after each patient. So my review is not of the treatment but rather the environment, safety conditions during this pandemic. I was there to see an oral surgeon and had gone to my regular dentist a week prior. The difference in experience was evident from the start of my visit. My regular dentist saw patients one by one to eliminate waiting room interactions, kept a very sanitary space, implemented social distancing rules, and sent out a pre-visit survey to ensure safety. That was my expectation coming in to my visit but unfortunately it didn’t come close to meeting that expectation.
