About Dr. Allan Shanin

Dr. Shanin received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from New York University College of Dentistry in Manhattan, New York. He then went on to complete a one-year general practice residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens in Flushing, New York, where he gained knowledge and skills in restorative and implant dentistry. From there, Dr. Shanin went on to earn his certificate in oral and maxillofacial surgery from Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center, an affiliate of Weill Cornell Medical College, where he also served as chief resident. While there, his training consisted of the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including orthognathic surgery, facial trauma, dental alveolar surgery, pathology and reconstruction, management of temporomandibular joint disorders, wisdom tooth extraction, bone grafting, and implant surgery. He also received his anesthesia and IV sedation training there as well. Dr. Shanin now practices full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgery with a focus on dental-alveolar, wisdom teeth, and implant surgery. He is recognized by his colleagues and patients for providing a high level of care with a unique sense of compassion. Dr. Shanin is an active member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, and New York State Dental Association. He currently resides in Long Island with his wife and four children.
