Born and raised in Philadelphia, Dr. Smolen received his D.D.S. degree from Temple University. He practiced restorative and cosmetic dentistry in Bucks County, PA for over 30 years. In addition to his dental practice, Smiles on the Upper Westside, he is a clinical assistant professor at NYU Dentistry’s Full Mouth Rehabilitation Continuing Dental Education Program . This is a hands-on clinical care course in advanced restorative, implant and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Smolen has elected to continue his own education at the renowned Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education. the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Study, and NYU Dentistry's Continuing Education Program. Dr. Smolen is a member of the American Dental Association and the New York State Dental Association. Each year, he regularly attends continuing education courses on a variety of topics to strive to improve the quality and level of care he offers. Currently, he lives in New York city with his wife, a local realtor.

Going to Dr. Smolen's office is always a pleasant experience. The staff has smiles on their faces and make a trip to the dentist not that bad. The office is clean and well managed. The teeth cleaning was comfortable and easier than expected.

The office was clean, organized and professional. The staff and doctor listened and addressed my concerns. I have never had such a thorough examination of my mouth. The doctor spent more time with me than I have experienced with other dental offices.
