Brian F. Bovino, DMD received his dental degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dentistry in 1985. He completed a general practice residency in Dentistry at Mount Sinai Medical Center (now the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai) in New York City in 1986. He served as Fellow in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn New York, finishing in 1987. In 1990, he completed formal residency training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City.
Dr. Bovino has been in private practice since 1990. In addition, he has held academic positions at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital, first as Clinical Coordinator of residency training, followed by Section Chief, Division of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. From 2004-2017 he was Director of the Division of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and residency training at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital. During this time, he served as a member of the Graduate Medical Education Committee and Operating Room Committee. Currently, he is Director of Academic Affairs within the Division of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center in NYC. There, Dr. Bovino serves on the faculty in the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Training Program as well as faculty practice.
He is licensed to practice full scope oral & maxillofacial surgery and administer in-office general anesthesia in New York and New Jersey. He is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in 1993 and he has completed re-certification in 2011. He was a Clinical Associate Professor at Columbia University School of Dentistry & Oral Surgery. He is a member of various societies including the American Dental Association.
