Doctor David N Grayson DDS, graduated from SUNY Binghamton with a BA in Biology. He then attended dental school at New York University College of Dentistry where he graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) Degree in 1977. Doctor Grayson has had extensive training in all aspects of dentistry. He is most especially proficient in the area of cosmetic dentistry, where he has performed smile makeovers and reconstructions of patients' teeth. He has attended numerous seminars and conferences in the desire to continually sharpen and hone his knowledge and technical skills.
Doctor Grayson is most excited about the new area of Relaxation Dentistry. All too frequently, patients have a great fear of seeing a dentist. This neglect, aide from dental concerns, may lead to serious complications such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. Relaxation dentistry affords the nervous, anxious or frightened patient the ability to receive the treatment he or she may so desperately need. And, since there are no drugs involved with the treatment, there is no danger of adverse reactions or that "groggy" feeling so often associated with medications. And the patient is able to drive him or herself home without needing to inconvenience a third party.
Dr. Grayson is a member the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH). He recently became a Diplomate of the American Board of Hypnosis in Dentistry (ABDH)) The American Board of Hypnosis in Dentistry (ABHD) provides certification of competence in clinical hypnosis to dentists. It is the approved accrediting body sanctioned by the two major scientific hypnosis societies, the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH) and The Society of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis (SCEH). Its board certification provides the diplomate with the highest level of credentialing in dental hypnosis. Dr. Grayson is one of only eighteen dentists world-wide to have achieved this level of credentialing. Dr. Grayson is also an Approved Consultant in Clinical Hypnosis from ASCH. He served on its executive committee for three years, and is now a member of its education committee.
