Growing up in Fort Washington, Maryland, Dr. Starr always knew she wanted to work with children. Dr. Starr graduated with honors from Spelman College, earning a BS degree in Biology in 2000. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Howard University College of Dentistry in 2007. She received an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Certificate in 2008 at Lutheran Medical Center. It was there that she decided to go back to Howard University to specialize in Pediatric Dentistry. In 2010, Dr. Starr earned a certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Pediatric Dentistry from Howard University and has been practicing as a Pediatric Dentist for 3 years.
Dr. Starr is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Maryland Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Maryland Dental Society. She resides in Bowie, MD with her daughter Nia and in her free time enjoys participating in local community activities and spending time with friends and family.

Awesome visit. Dr. Starring handled my "anxious " child with ease and grace. He settled down quickly (the tv on the ceiling was an added bonus ) and was out of the chair in less than 15 minutes. Great professionalism shown by all.

I love Dr. Starr. She is great with my 2 year old. However one of the things that bothered me with this visit was office procedures.
There was a patient who arrived very late for their appointment. Other patients including myself there will h my 2 year old were there on time. The patient who arrived late was immediately seen thus delaying my appointment with my son even longer.
I'll be trying different appointment times to see if wait is better but the last 2 visits, I have been bothered with the wait times.

Wow--I arrived 25 minutes early and her office was ready for me. My 9 year old had been apprehensive about going to a new dentist. Dr. Starr is now her favorite dentist!!!! Dr. Starr took time to discuss what she was doing. She calmly explained the necessary changes involving nightly flossing. My daughter left feeling that Dr. Starr truly cared about her well being:) As a parent, I was relieved!!!~

Probably won't be going back. Felt like I had to put to much effort into explaining to the receptionist why I did not want to list my SSN on the forms that I was given to fill out. Ever since my SSN was comprised, I refrain from listing that information on any medical/dental forms. Not providing that information to any of my medical providers has never been a problem until today. While attempting to check out, the receptionist was helping another patient and was also on the phone. After waiting about two minutes, without any acknowledgement that I was there, I decided to leave. I did receive a call on my cell shortly after asking if I wanted to schedule a follow up appointment.

I highly recommend Dr. Starr and the staff of Bright Starr Pediatric Dentistry.
I initially met Dr. Starr and her staff at a health fair. They were all so pleasant and personable. Dr. Starr was extremely professional, so I decided to schedule an appt for my two oldest children (12, 4).
When we arrived, I found the office decor to be very welcoming for little ones- mild/ soothing color tones. There's a play area with various toys, as well as a TV and a book station. The lobby caters to various little personality types. The wait time wasn't very long at all. Dr. Starr gave both of my children her undivided attention and answered any questions that we posed. My children enjoyed their first visit so much that they were looking forwards to returning...unheard of for the dentist.
Again, the staff was very polite and patient with the children. We are proud to have Dr. Starr as our Pediatric Dentist.
Recently, I scheduled an appointment for my 2 year old (his first dental appt) and I have to say I was anxious about his reaction of visiting the dentist. Initially, he wasn't too excited or very cooperative, but the Bright Starr staff made him very comfortable. He was still hesitant but Dr. Starr soothed him and remained patient and professional throughout the entire visit.
I would highly recommend Bright Starr Pediatric to anyone seeking a dental home for their little ones.

I decided to take my kids to Dr. Ebonne because of the great reviews she had on zocdoc. I have to say she is by far the best pediatric dentist, thsthe wait time was short maybe 10 minutes, both my kids came out with a big smile not a single tear, i have a 1 and a 4 year old. I highly recommend her shes really nice.

Best dentist I have ever experienced. Very considerate and compassionate regarding my daughter's fear of dentists. paid great attention to how she was tolerating the pain, and her anxiety as the procedures progressed. It was my first time there and it was quick, easy, and they were super friendly. My son was sacred and they made him feel right at home. They didn't push anything upon him and still got him to get a cleaning. After 2 failed attempts elsewhere that wasn't pediatric, this was a great start for him getting comfortable with visiting dentist.
