The first lady I met at the front desk was very warm and acted like she had known me.

Dr. Jai Shin is a funny, attentive dentist treating patients in New York city. He makes it his goal to provide high-quality dental work in a family environment. Though he treats all kinds of patients in the Midtown and Central Park South areas, he particularly enjoys soothing the fears of patients nervous about dental visits and loves treating children.
Originally from Philadelphia, Dr. Shin earned his DDS from New York University. He continues his education with Greater Dental New York courses to keep his practice up to date. Procedures offered by Dr. Shin include laser procedures, in-visit crowns, braces, and cosmetic dental services. His office uses the latest dental technology, including Invisalign, air abrasions, cerec, and laser technology.
When he is not in the office, Dr. Shin enjoys spending time with his family. He is happily married and lives in the city with his wife and Roosevelt, their dog. He also enjoys making furniture and attending wine tastings.

I had a great experience! I had avoided dentists for MANY years (over 8 lets just say) and I came in fearful but left laughing and happy. They are professional and explain everything thoroughly.

Dr. Shin is the best. I have been coming to his office for about 9 months now. Honestly if you want to see a fantastic, funny but very talented Dentist, then Dr. Shin is your man.
Not only did that take me on time but 30 minutes early. I have never waited and they will always get me in if there is an emergency. I have veneers and when one of those suckers comes off, then believe me it is an emergency.
If you do not have a dentist or are ready to find a new one then go see Dr. Shin and his staff. They all are very professional and friendly. I have only see them treat their patients with respect.
I will never change my dentist!!!

While the wait was long, as I scheduled the appointment morning of, this was the best experience I've had at the dentist is a very long time. Root canal and all. I will see Dr. Shin again and I will recommend him to my friends and family. Also, the reception staff are lovely.

I can honestly say that everyone that works in this office is incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and kind. The assistant who took my x-rays was so patient and informative. He showed me all my images and answered all my questions. The receptionist and the insurance checker were also incredibly nice and helpful (the insurance woman was able to convince the oral surgeon's office to fit me in even though they are booked for weeks!). Dr. Shin was kind and really took the time necessary to inspect every single one of my teeth. He is also skilled at explaining teeth problems in a way that is accessible and reassuring. I left the office with bad news about my teeth (wisdom tooth extraction ouch!) but feeling happy to have found an office where I felt welcome, valued and cared for.

Dr. Shin was polite for the 5 minutes we interacted but the staff was rude and really obnoxious. Since I did not have insurance that covered dental, while I was in the waiting room the staff spoke about how the main doctor will not see me and that I would not be able to afford the bill. It was a really unpleasant experience.

Not only was Dr. Shin wonderful, his whole staff - from the hygienist to the woman who handled my insurance - was so friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this practice.

Although Dr. Shin is a decent dentist, his front desk staff is absolutely horrendous and unprofessional. They talk over you and give you an attitude while you're trying to explain the reason why you're calling. Furthermore, they seem to have a tendency of overbooking patients and the wait times could be long.
Going to the dentist is already a unpleasant experience, and the last thing you want is to deal with unprofessional staff.

Really nice and professional area or place of work. Loved the high tech equipment they use there as well. All members of the clinic where very nice and equipped with knowledge about the information i needed and inquires i asked.

Pros: Spent adequate time with me, everyone in the office was extremely friendly, did a good job at explaining work needing to be done.
Con: Felt a little upsold with the work I needed done, the gum disease treatments and the Phillips toothbrush, may get a second opinion.
