We saw Dr Sousa for a dental emergency for my 12 years old. My son was nervous and in pain and Dr Sousa was calm and professional and helped quell the nervousness. Although ultimately he had to refer my son to a pediatric specialist; I would highly recommend Dr Sousa as a dentist.

After filling out my new patient paperwork, I was seen right away. Dr. Sousa was not at all rushed, taking time to discuss my questions, and I will be returning for additional work.

Dr. John Sousa graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dental Medicine, where he later taught as a professor of restorative dentistry. He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, The American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, The American Academy of Pain Management, The American Equilibration Society, The American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, The American Dental Association.
The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry believes successful cosmetic dentistry is dependent on a harmonious relationship between relaxed muscle function and stable jaw movements - a physiologically comfortable bite.
Dr. Sousa has completed extensive postgraduate training with Dr. Peter Dawson and Dr. Mark Piper at the Center for Advanced Dental Study, a recognized authority in research and the education of comprehensive dentistry. The advanced postgraduate training relates the patient's occlusion (bite) to the form and function of the masticatory (chewing) muscles and the temporomandibular(jaw) joints. It is this functioning system of teeth, muscles and joints that allow us to eat, speak and express our emotions.
Professionals who graduate from this advanced program become physicians of the masticatory system.
In addition to Dr. Sousa's family practice, he practices Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry augmented by the diagnosis & treatment of Craniofacial Pain (headaches) and TMJ Dysfunction.
