Dr. Jonathan Michel is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and board eligible for the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery. He practices the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and has specialized training and education in facial cosmetic surgery, including facelifts, brow lifts, blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty, lip lifts, chin and face implants, fat transfer, otoplasty, and hair transplantation.
Dr. Michel earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Columbia University’s College of Dental Medicine. He then completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine. Upon completing his residency, Dr. Michel completed a Facial Cosmetic Surgery fellowship at the Williamson Cosmetic Center in Baton Rouge, LA, where he performed over 900 cosmetic procedures. During his fellowship, he taught cosmetic surgery, dermal fillers, and chemical denervation to Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residents at Louisiana State University. After finishing his training, Dr. Michel and his wife Leighanne, an Emergency Medicine physician, decided to move back to New Jersey to start a family and join Riverside Oral Surgery.
Dr. Michel’s unique training allows him to manage complex conditions of the aging face, craniomaxillofacial trauma, skeletal discrepancies of the jaw (orthognathic surgery), pathology of the face, and other aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery with the skill and precision to provide excellent technical care and superb aesthetic results.
In his spare time, Dr. Michel still plays ice hockey and golf and enjoys hiking with his wife Leighanne, son Jackson, and their rescue dog Chloe.
