Dr. Joseph Murray practices dentistry with the utmost care and concern for his patients. We start seeing patients from the age of 12. For more than 20 years his patients have known him to be the Atlanta dentist who “caters to cowards.” He focuses on educating his patients on the benefits of good dental health as well as how it relates to overall health.
Dr. Murray is a graduate of Howard University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in psychology and zoology. He earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1982 and immediately joined the US Army, where he served three years as a Captain in the US Dental Corps.
Dr. Murray was owner and director of the Atlanta Institute of Dental Careers, a training institute that teaches students to become above-average assistants and office personnel for the profession of dentistry. Dr. Murray started his private practice in 1986 and has continued to be very active in the community. He was given a Certificate of Excellence, as well as the Community Excellence Award.
As a part of community involvement he headed the Good Deed Contest for school-aged children. Dr. Murray received a degree from the American Orthodontic Society in 1996 and the American College of Oral Implantology in 2000.

Dr. Murray is very good at explaining the procedure and what to expect regarding results. He has a good team supporting him. He also has an excellent consultative approach which makes you feel that your feedback is being heard and taken into consideration. This is very important to me because I always like to be apart of the decision-making process given that I will be the one "living" with the outcome.

My visit was better than what i expect it to be............when it comes to seeing a dentist I become a big baby...........yes this is my worst fear factor and needles...........my procedure was over and done with before I could really get comfortable in the chair .......... no pain what so ever..........great job Dr. Murray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
