Karen Gear, DDS has been a practicing Dentist for 20 years after she received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Howard University College of Dentistry in 1989. Dr. Gear has been practicing as an Endodontist for the last 16 years after completing the Endodontic Specialty training program from the New Jersey College of Medicine and Dentistry in 1993. Currently, Dr. Gear is the President and CEO of Endodontic Consulting, P.C, her private practice in Manhattan.
Dr. Gear is also a clinical attending at Harlem Hospital Center, Department of Dentistry/Columbia University Affiliate. Dr. Gear is responsible for providing didactic information and assisting post graduate dental residents in improving their clinical skills relating to endodontics.
As an Endodontist, Dr. Gear performs non surgical, and surgical procedures in an attempt to save a tooth or teeth. Dr. Gear is a part of the team approach to provide exceptional care for patients. This team generally consists of the General Dentist, Prosthodontist and Endodontist. Dr. Gear works closely with her referring offices and their patients to ultimately retain teeth. Dr. Gear takes pride in the fact that she has developed a unique ability with her professional expertise to make patients feel at ease with what they perceive to be frightening procedure. The majority of Dr. Gear's patients leave after completion of the Endodontic procedure with an appreciative hug and thanks for making the procedure seem so easy.
Dr. Gear is an active member of the American Association of Endodontists.

The office was very cute and easily accessible. Dr. Gear's secretary and dental assistant were very pleasant. If I ever needed another root canal, I would go back to Dr. Gear!
