She gave me all the good and bad, with a positive vibe, and even gave me a hug when I was relieved I wasn’t too bad off. I had a great first visit at New Smile Dental, the staff was friendly and efficient, the doctor herself was welcoming and very helpful, not to mention great at informing me of any solutions to concerns I brought up. I was in and out super quickly, and they do conveniently have a small parking lot and lots of street parking for when you visit. Highly recommend!

Dr. Martinez graduated from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Dalhousie University School of Dentistry in 2007. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Martinez returned home to practice dentistry in the cities of Norwalk and Pico Rivera. She has also participated in an international dental mission trip, providing essential dental care to underserved patients in Thailand.
Dr. Martinez believes that dentistry is an exceptional profession that uniquely blends art and science, allowing her to positively impact her patients' oral health, confidence, and self-worth. She and her team at New Smile Dental Studio look forward to creating beautiful and healthy smiles for you and your family.
Born in Nicaragua and raised in California, Dr. Martinez has lived in Pasadena for more than 10 years. She takes approximately 20 continuing education hours per year, gaining valuable information and staying current with all aspects of the dental field.

The receptionist was very nice but that's about the best thing about this office. Dr.Karen told me that if I got a root canal there was no way for them to match my tooth color so my smile would "not be beautiful anymore" and instead I should get 4 VENEERS instead so I could finally get that "Hollywood smile" even though at no point did I tell her I was unhappy with the way I look (I actually like how my smile looks). The appointment was rushed and she seemed almost angry at me for coming in. I deal with a lot of dental anxiety but instead of trying to make me feel more comfortable she tried to sell me dental procedures I did not need or want. Kind of a brutal experience.

Terrible cleanliness. Made me wait and never addressed me to let me know. The tech didn't know how to take an X-ray and kept hurting me and trying over and over again while touching every machine with the same gloves she touched my mouth. I felt uncomfortable and left - never again.

I went to Dr. Karen Martinez for a first time appointment and was so blown away by my experience there. Everyone who works at the office was SO nice and helpful and just made my whole appt enjoyable. I went for a cleaning but I've also been having super bad jaw pain and Dr. Martinez gave me some great advice and was so patient and understanding when my jaw was acting up. They were super transparent about pricing too!
