Hands down the BEST dental office . Dr. Katie is so sweet ! She is very caring and goes above and beyond for all her patients ( even the teens) I’ve been seeing her since I was a teen and it’s been the coolest , comfortable experience. Her office is beautiful! The wait time is exponential, you won’t find another office that runs smooth and on time like Hers, I’ve never ran late bc of her office .

Dr. Lopez is a native of Northern Virginia. She pursued her dental career at Howard University College of Dentistry where she was top ten in her class. Dr. Lopez knew from an early age that she wanted to be a Dentist, seeing the profession of Dentistry as the perfect blend of Medicine, Art, and Personal relationship. Dr. Lopez has a true passion for dentistry and enjoys learning all aspects of her profession every chance she gets. She maintains the highest levels of accreditation and pursues ongoing education to stay abreast of the latest trends in dentistry. Being a conscientious practitioner, she is committed to excellence and will apply her expertise to your dental needs. Dr. Lopez is fluent in English and in Spanish.

Office is clean, practices in the pandemic were exceptional and felt really comfortable as no crowds! I was very pleased with this dentist and the staff. Scheduling the appointment was a breeze. Hours were accommodating and services were affordable for people who don't have dental insurance. I felt like I received excellent and thorough care from the hygienist and Dr. Katie. Both were very knowledgeable and gentle.

I chose to try out Dr. Lopez after some sketchy billing practices at our last dentist, and told her this when I arrived. She understood my concerns and explained that she always gets pre-authorizations when she recommends a bigger procedure - and she doesn't do the procedure until the patient knows it's covered or what they'll have to come up with out of pocket. Then, because I didn't yet have my records from the previous dentist, she offered to do the x-rays to check for cavities and bone loss free of charge. I'll be back!

This practice is VERY difficult to work with. I have not been to a practice that does not simultaneously do urgent, emergency dental work and insurance approval when the work is needed. If I had continued with this practice, I would have had to go back for 4 or more visits over the course of 3 weeks for what should have only taken 2 to 3 visits, max. The practice requires that you wait for your insurance pre authorization before they do any work. Not only did they require this pre authorization, Dr. Lopez lied about my insurance denying work that she submitted for approval. She stated that my insurance "flat out denied" the claim, but when I called my insurance to follow up on what they needed they stated that they did not deny the claim, they just requested more information before they could respond.

Due to this long pre authorization process, of course, the crown I was schedule to replace popped off. I went back to have it re-cemented back on until she could start the procedure, and she charged me for re-cementing the crown. Talk about nickel and diming your patients. It wasn’t much, but it really was the principle of it all that was so frustrating.
I proceeded with having 2 root canals done with an outsourced endodontist that comes in sporadically for root canal appointments. Before he started the work, I politely explained that I was a high needs patient and had intense dental anxiety. He brushed off my concerns and began my procedure. After beginning with the work and stopping him repeatedly because I was not yet numb and was feeling excruciating pain, I had to cut him off completely and end the appointment. Trembling in tears, he wanted to continue the work but I told him i wasn't able to proceed. He responded with, "Sounds good." and walked away. The dental assistance removed the bib around my neck and also walked away. I was left alone in the chair, traumatized, crying and shaking from the experience. No one came to check on me to see if I was ok, let alone ok to walk out of the office and drive home. I went to the reception area where they gave me a refund for the unfinished root canal, and left in tears. I had to sit in my car for over an hour to compose myself until it was safe for me to drive home.
It is now 5 days later and no one has called to follow up on my experience or check in to see how I’m doing!
This whole experience has caused me immense emotional trauma along with disrupting my work due to all the days I've had to take off for these appointments. In the end, I went to another practice to have my work completed.

Dr Katie always make my experience a great one when I visit. She's very ki d and informative about my health. Recently, I had to get a root canal which worried me because the last one I had done at another dentist's office was painfully. When Dr. Katie performed,the same procedure, I felt no pain at all!
I highly recommend Dr. Katie to anyone that needs a dentist.

Convenient and Gentle:
I got an appointment for the next day and then a follow up appointment for the same time next week. I got the (most comfortable) least uncomfortable cleaning I've ever gotten. I like how up front they were about the plan for my future treatments and expected costs with my insurance.

I have been seeing Dr. Lopez for about a year and a half now for routine dental care. This was my first time getting a filling with Dr. Lopez. I would highly recommend her for this procedure. She was fantastic and my usual dentist anxiety was soon gone after she started working on my mouth. The front desk staff are also very good. Very friendly and efficient.

Dr. Lopez is an excellent doctor. She is very thorough in her explanation of what your treatment is and why. She is gentle in her care. She is prepared to answer any questions. When you leave her office you are aware of what's been done in your treatment, and what needs to be done for your future dental health.

I only was there for a short time but I would recommend it, the people were really sweet, the office was very clean and neat, it was a very relaxed and professional environment...
