Dr. Kirk Christianson is married to his wonderful wife Chelle and they have three children, Joe, Matthew and Claire. Residing in Vancouver, Washington, the family enjoys skiing, scuba diving, sailing and riding dirt bikes. His oldest son Joe is attending Boise State University, Matthew is attending Clark College as a junior in high school, and Claire is attending pre-school. His wife Chelle is an experienced office manager who has taken time off from work to stay home with their youngest child.
Dr. Christianson has been serving patients in the northwest for over 10 years. He began his career working for the National Health Service Corp and spent two years treating low-income and at risk patients, where he developed his belief in and support of charitable dentistry. Dr. Christianson believes that part of belonging to a community includes helping those who, for a variety of reasons, may not be able to care for themselves. That is why each year he selects several cases to perform for a reduced fee or at no cost.
Upon leaving the NHSC for private practice, Dr. Christianson began to focus on surgery, orthodontics and cosmetics. In 2006 he took additional education and training for sedation dentistry and has successfully treated hundreds of patients who were previously unable to receive dental care due to anxiety. In 2008 he began offering Invisalign and undertook a rigorous program in oral surgery, where he developed the skills to perform complex extractions of wisdom teeth, hard and soft tissue grafting, sinus lifts and the placement and restoration of dental implants. He is familiar with and has placed implants from several of the leading manufacturers.
Dr Christianson has a commitment to staying on the cutting edge of dentistry. He utilizes digital x rays, lasers, Zoom whitening, 3D cone-beam imaging (3D cat scans), and has been using a Cerec 3D(same day crowns). He recently upgraded his Cerec 3D to the Omnicam, and is one of a select few practitioners in the entire Portland metro area to be able to offer this to his patients.
