Dr. Cormac MacDermott is a Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (Board Certified) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He graduated from the Columbia College of Dental Medicine and did his residency in Pediatric Dentistry at New York Presbyterian Hospital.
Dr. Cormac is comfortable and confident with children of all ages, personality types and medical conditions. He has an easy-going, gentle nature and sense of humor that, combined with a high level of skill and expertise, make dental visits not only educational but also enjoyable.
He is committed to children’s health both locally and globally. For the last several years he has provided free dental care to under-privileged children and their families through “Give Kids a Smile”, and has traveled extensively as a volunteer and advocate for children’s health.
Dr. Cormac lives in Brooklyn Heights with his wife, Erin, a veterinarian, and their two children. He is a long-suffering fan of the New York Jets.

Was assigned the super tiny yellow room in the back with two kids under 5 and 2 adults. We didn’t fit and was repeatedly asked to move out of the adjorning purple room that had no separation and a lot more space. The assistant shuffling us into the small room was curt and not understanding. My 2 year old was “always getting into her way” even though she wasn’t attending the other patient; she was just walking around. If privacy was so important, they should have curtains separating the two rooms like in hospitals, and be more mindful when assigning rooms so that the larger rooms are for the double sibling appointments and the smaller room is for the single appointment. The desk reception was also very unprofessional with verifying insurance data. She made a mistake that resulted in her inability to verify my insurance, and was rather nasty about it. While Dr Cormac was the sweetest gentlemen, I’d say overall the ladies helping him were rude and unpleasant, to not only the adults but to my kids as well.

He was excellent my daughter has been to this office about three times for a cleaning and the true test was when she needed to have a cavity filled. He was gentle and very comforting. It happened so fast as she was preoccupied watching the t.v. screen on the ceiling that she didn't realize it was over. And she was not groggy from the gas either as well as she felt no pain.
