About Dr. You-na Kim
Dr. You-Na Kim grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She completed her dental education at New York University College of Dentistry graduating with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and then pursued her specialty training at NYU earning a Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Kim is a Board Certified pediatric dentist who found her passion in Pediatric Dentistry while she was treating children in Oaxaca, Mexico on her dental mission trips. She provided free dental care in the local underserved community and implemented educational programs to local schools. She has also visited elementary and middle schools in Hudson, New York and Machias, Maine as well as many villages in Guatemala to provide definitive dental care to an underserved population. It is Dr. Kim’s goal to provide the highest quality of dental care to every child in a personable and compassionate manner as if he/she is her own child. She finds it extremely fulfilling to transform children’s perceptions and experiences in dentistry into positive and pleasant ones. Dr. Kim is certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS). She is currently an active member of American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and American Dental Association. During her free time, Dr. Kim enjoys cooking, working out, swimming, traveling, and going to concerts.

We had such a wonderful experience with Dr. Kim, her assistant, and the entire office staff during my daughter’s dental visit. From the moment we walked in, everyone was so kind, friendly, and welcoming, which immediately put my daughter at ease. The office itself was spotless and very well-kept, which made us feel even more comfortable.
The staff was incredibly professional and efficient, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. Dr. Kim is not only extremely knowledgeable but also incredibly gentle and caring. She took the time to explain everything clearly, and her calm, patient manner made my daughter feel comfortable throughout the visit. Everything went smoothly thanks to how attentive and thorough she was.
It’s always a bonus when the kids get stickers and a toy at the end-it truly made my daughter’s day! I am so grateful for the kindness and professionalism of Dr. Kim and her team. Highly recommend!

This was my daughter’s first dental visit and it was a great experience from start to finish. The front desk was friendly and professional, the waiting area had toys and a kids TV show, and the office was spotless. Dr. You-na Kim and her team were wonderful — they even greeted my daughter in Thai (“sawadee”), which instantly made her smile. They used a puppet to teach her about teeth, which made the visit fun and stress free. Everything went so smoothly that I booked my own appointment before we left.

Dr. Kim was super friendly and amazing. She is very experienced and adapts to the situation well and this is particularly important with toddlers that are screaming, crying, and moving all over. She assessed my toddlers situation well, made a plan for the visit and the next, executed with efficiency, and kept you in the loop the whole way. She was also great with my son between clear instructions, gifting, convincing, and complimenting, all the skills I would believe you need for a scared toddler. The staff were also very friendly and understanding. My husband will be coming here for his regular cleaning as well.

I visited Dr. You-na Kim with my 4-year-old daughter, and our experience was excellent. Dr. Kim was incredibly friendly, thoughtful, and professional, answering all of my questions thoroughly. My daughter was initially nervous about the visit, but after meeting Dr. Kim, she said it wasn’t scary at all. We're so glad to have found such a great dentist in our neighborhood!

I took my son for his dental appointment. My son does have behavioral issues, but the provider was made aware of these before hand. Dr. Kim did examine my son and found 4 cavities. The office attempted to take x-rays, but this was unsuccessful due to the behavioral issues. The provider said she could not treat my son, and instead referred him to another dentist. This visit was a waste of time for myself, my wife, and my son. We wasted several hours each and received no treatment other than fluoride. In our opinion, the provider should have told us before hand that treatment was not possible and saved us both time and money.

My daughter needed a serious dental procedure so we found ourselves back here. I was mostly impressed with how professional and thorough Dr. Kim was in explaining what my daughter needed and how she was able to calm and work together with my daughter. Amazing dentist!

Dr. Kim was so friendly with my son and the office was well-equipped to handle kids. Mason watched his favourite TV show during the entire visit and loved it! Laughing gas certainly helped him as well. I highly recommend Dr. Kim to any moms with anxious kids.

My son was referred to Dr. Kim from my family dentist after having traumatic experience in the past. He was so nervous but felt incredibly comfortable and confident after one visit with Dr. Kim. My son and daughter both have sensory issues, and they are so incredibly comfortable getting treatment done by Dr. Kim. Dr. Kim is very thorough, polite and really goes into detail explaining certain things and I appreciate that. My daughter (2 year old) has had her first teeth cleaning and I was she would kick or scream and I was amazed at how calm she was. You can tell she loves what she does, so I just wanted to say thank you so much Dr. Kim! And I will see you soon for a caring filling!
