Dr Shimshi was very kind, helpful, and warm. I felt comfortable with the procedure and she was diligent in checking my x-rays while I also felt she was cost conscious and didn't try to upsell me on anything unnecessary.

Dr. Shimshi is considered a leader in cosmetic and general dentistry among her peers. Having spent several years in training in cosmetics and restorative dentistry with top cosmetic dentists, practicing and furthering her education simultaneously, she has developed a unique technique for porcelain veneer preparation that involves minimal tooth loss. The results are invisible to the naked eye. Dr. Shimshi has completed Invisalign training to assist in thorough treatment planning.
She taught as clinical instructor at New York University's College of Dentistry's Operative Department for several years.
Dr. Shimshi started a private practice in 2004 where she successfully placed thousands of veneers and cosmetic crowns.
Dr. Shimshi is committed to treating the whole patient with excellence and compassion.
When not in the office, she enjoys spending time and traveling with her husband and daughters.

If this office needs to contact you then will give you 1 phone. They will fail to email or leave a voicemail so you don’t even know who is calling or why. I showed up to my appointment to the receptionist telling me my insurance wasn’t accepted and she “contacted me weeks ago.” The contact was 1 singular phone call with no voice message. I assumed it was a spam call as if it was important (or a doctors office), a voicemail is almost always left. I wasted 2 hours of my life today taking time of work just to not even have an actual appointment. They then proceeded to try to ask me if I wanted to pay out of pocket for an appointment….. absolutely not.

Dr. Shimshi and team were polite and quick. She was happy to explain the details to my dad on the phone. They were also flexible when I asked my appointment be pushed back. When I asked for my scans to be emailed to me they did it before I even left the office!

I’ve been going to Dr. Shimshi for years now and she has always had the best bedside manners and staff. If you have completed wearing aligners like I did, Dr. Shimshi will gladly put a permanent retainer in (which is life changing). I highly recommend her!

I liked Dr. Shimshi very much and her staff are very friendly. However, they need to do better about telling their patients if something is not covered by insurance as I was charged a pretty penny for some bonding. If I was told beforehand, I would have waited until next month when my 2018 insurance would have covered the expense.

I found Dr. Shimshi through ZocDoc and have been going to her for about three years. She and all the staff in the office are super nice. They invest in you as a patient and are very easy to work with if you have questions regarding billing, insurance, appointment changes, etc. The office is quiet and clean, and there is never a wait to be seen once you arrive for your appointment. I would highly recommend her practice!

Dr. Shimshi listened to all of my concerns patiently and answered them clearly. She also had a kind, friendly demeanor, and I got the impression she wouldn't recommend any work unless it was necessary. I felt that she cared about my health. Her assistant was gentle. This was my 3rd check up appointment. an all around good experience. Dr. Shimshi was thorough. From the start, She actually listened to me and addressed every small concern. I was left with so much knowledge about my teeth and a feeling she really cared about my health. Over the last year, my teeth and gums have improved tremendously.
The assistant is gentle and seems to really love her job.
The receptionist is always really helpful with my insurance and made sure I had no surprises. The reason i was seeking a new dentist was because of billing issues., then a friend recommended Dr. Shimshi.
The office is intimate, clean, and modern.
I have recommended several of my close friends. Two of them went and loved the experience too.
I wholeheartedly recommend.
I also just love seeing the same faces every time, I detest offices that are revolving doors for staff.

I had 3 fillings done today, didn't feel any discomfort. Dr. Shimshi has such gente hands. I highly recommend her. Do not hesitate to book here, everyone is so caring and I trust them.

I highly recommend Dr. Shimshi as a primary dentist. Her high level of service, professionalism and welcoming personality maintains our doctor/patient relationship after three (going on four) consistent visits. With her clean office space, friendly and supportive staff and phenomenal dental work on my teeth, I'm a Dr. Shimshi client for life.

Dr. Shimshi overcharged me for basic filling work after speaking with other dentists. She maxed out my insurance coverage across two appointments to complete just three fillings. Would not refer anyone to her.

I had an excellent experience as a first time patient of Dr. Shimshi's. From start to finish, I felt like I was in good hands. The staff was friendly and very attentive. I also loved the fact that Dr. Shimshi herself did my cleaning and was very hands on during my appointment. (Usually, these services are performed by dental hygienists).
I am very much looking forward to my next appointment here and highly recommend this practice if you are looking for a new dentist in NYC.

Doctor Shimshi has great bedside manner. She is professional and warm. She does offer cosmetic dental services which are not really appealing to me but I go to her for my standard dental work. I've been going to her for a couple of years now and she's generally been on time, on my last visit, she was running really late. They gave me a call letting me know they were running 15 mins late so I turned up 15 mins past my appointment but I didn't see the doc until an hour after my scheduled time. I think this was a once off though and I wouldn't hold it against her.

Literally the best dentist visit I have ever had in my life! Very gentle cleaning, very thorough exam, took her time I explaining things to me, even let me know the cost of everything before I agreed to any procedures so I didn't have any surprise bills. The receptionist was a little tired because it was the end of the day, the dental assistant was extremely friendly, and she seemed to like working with Dr. Shimshi as well. I work with doctors every day, so I know how important the relationship between the doctor and the staff is. She sees a couple of other people from my company as well, and they all rave about her. Highly recommended, and I've definitely found my dentist for as long as I'm in NYC!
