I am a new patient to Dr Michele Knabe, DDS. She will be the only person there doing x-rays, measurements, cleanings, fillings, etc.
Basics: She does a very thorough job of cleaning. She took a bit longer cleaning than other dentists so if you don't mind the dentist being in your mouth for a long time, then this one is a good choice for you!
Personality: She always talks through what she sees, whether you have plaque buildup in certain areas, unclean areas, or any other odd observations she sees.
Education: She took time to explain to me the things that harm my gums and teeth, why they happen, and how to best prevent them. If you have any specific questions I feel welcomed to ask them - she is really nice.

I pride myself on my conservative, yet comprehensive treatment philosophy in caring for my patients. I believe first and foremost that educating and informing my patients is the foundation of developing a trusting and long-term relationship that will lead to a lifetime of dental health.
It is my goal to provide patients with the highest quality, affordable, up-to-date dental care. I am committed to continuing education and to providing my patients with state-of-the-art services.
Dr. Knabe grew up in the greater Philadelphia area and headed to the Midwest when her family moved during high school. She earned her undergraduate degree from Aquinas College, a liberal arts college in Michigan offering great diversity and a well-rounded education. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The University of Illinois in 1999.
Dr. Knabe worked as an associate before going out on her own in 2003, wanting to provide an intimate practice that supports patients in an urban setting. In 2008, she opened a beautiful new space with brand-new equipment. Also, for seven years, she worked part time at the Northwestern Dental Center, located in Northwestern Hospital. Her time at Northwestern has given her a deep understanding of the link between dental and medical health.
Running is one of her greatest passions outside of the office. She has completed eight marathons so far, with more to come. She is an avid Yogini, and loves being outside enjoying sports. She is also an avid reader, traveler, and cook. Although it's hard to figure where she finds the time, she also considers herself a movie buff.

Dr. Knabe is the best dentist that I have personally seen in over 30 years of going to the dentist. It's refreshing to see a dentist invest so much of her time into the health of my teeth. If you're looking for a fantastic place to go for your oral health, this is the place for you!

I think Dr. Knabe is very kind, very professional and very thorough. She obviously cares about her patients' dental health and needs. She is also the first dentist I have ever had who checked separately for lumps in the salivary glands, lymph glands and gum area. She's also fun to talk to!
