I have always believed that every person deserves quality dental care and a healthy smile. As your dentist, it is my job to help you achieve this. I am committed to developing and maintaining long term relationships with all of my patients and you can feel confident in knowing that I strive to provide the best treatment for each and every one of them.
I received my Bachelor Degree from Northwestern University in 1982 and attended Loyola University Dental School where I received my Doctorate in Dental Surgery degree in 1986. I enhance my education and keep up-to-date with changes in dentistry by participating in continuing education courses in general, cosmetic and restorative dentistry.
I began practicing dentistry in 1986 at a multi-specialty dental practice in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. It was the winter of 1990 that I started working for a local dentist in the Gold Coast neighborhood of Chicago and fell in love with the people and the community. In 1991 I opened my own practice on Chestnut Street and in June 2000, I moved my office to its present location on Walton Street.
Over the years I have been asked to be the featured speaker at local schools and businesses as well as the Girl Scouts. I have sponsored Northbrook hockey for many years and I have the honor of serving as a “mentor dentist” and working directly with many dental students at the University of Illinois Dental School in Chicago.
My patients know me as a compassionate, trustworthy dentist, who cares about them and their dental health. I take time to talk with each patient and together we determine what treatment option is best for them. I invite you and your family to come visit our office and I would consider it a privilege to help you with your dental needs.

While Dr. block was a lovely person, the office itself was questionable. It was out of date and a bit unsanitary. I question how thorough my exam was.

They were a bit held up so I wasn't able to start at my appointed time, but Dr. Block's assistant, Emmanuel, took me to get my x-rays done while I waited - very efficient use of time and resources. Dr. Nancy Block herself is a very lovely person! She was kind and offered great conversation, but didn't force it. I've never felt so calm going to a dentist's office.

I really enjoyed my visit with Dr. Block! She was thorough and you can tell that she is very passionate about her job. She talked exactly the right amount and only asked questions when she wasn't cleaning your teeth so that you could answer (rare)! She's also very funny. I will definitely be returning.

My experience with Dr. Block was delightful, for a dentist! She understood my immediate need which was to re-cement my cap for a job interview the next morning! She reassured me that my teeth weren't cracking down the middle but, that I just needed a good cleaning. What I thought was a piece of my tooth attached to my dental floss was just, a very large piece of plaque! YIKES!!! Anyway, I would go back to her but, I got the job and now, she's no longer in my zip code! She's delightful and a great dentist!

I strongly discourage you from seeing Dr. Block. This is the first time in my almost 30 years of life to be coming to a doctor who tells you they won't help you! First I was maid to wait over 30 minutes, although I called 30 minutes before to reconfirm the time and was told to come on time. When the doctor finally showed up, she took another 15 minutes to tell me she is not going to help me and that I'm to keep going with a hole in my tooth.
Please do yourself a favor and never see any other doctor, but this one.

It was my first time seeing an adult dentist. I had no idea to expect as I had previously only seen a pediatric dentist. Dr. Block made me feel calm and at ease throughout the entire appointment. She was extremely professional and courteous in answering all of my questions and easing my concerns. I would highly recommend!

Dr. Block is simply the best dentist I ever had. I recently moved to chicago and her office staff made it easy to make an appointment and find the building (which is in a great location! Right off of michigan ave!). Dr. Block is very skilled and knowledgeable. I can't wait to see the doctor in 6 months for a cleaning!
