My daughter has been coming here for a year now and we are loving the results. We are very comfortable with the staff there very professional, but my favorite one is Francis the receptionist, she's very sweet and very understanding with people's feelings. I highly recommend this office to people. Parents you will be very pleased with the doctors and the staff.

Dr. Nina Laracuente is a board-certified specialist in orthodontics. She is a graduate of University of Puerto Rico where she earned her Bachelors degree in Biology. Dr. Laracuente received her dental training from University of Puerto Rico-Medical Sciences Campus, where she graduated in the top of her class, and earned her Dental Medicine Doctor degree.
Dr. Laracuente furthered her education at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in New York where she completed a postgraduate program in General Practice Residency followed by a postgraduate program in
Pediatric Dentistry. She then continued her post-graduate education in orthodontics at the Montefiore Medical Center.
In 2008 Dr. Laracuente was appointed clinical attending at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center. She regularly attends continuing education lectures and seminars to stay current with the most modern clinical and diagnostic orthodontic techniques.

I had my braces done 12 years ago and my fixed retainer finally came loose after 12 years. My orthodontist is not there anymore since it's been more than a decade. I infoed the receptionist what happened and I wanted to know if I can get it fixed or have it removed. My insurance doesn't cover but I didn't mind paying out of my pocket since it's emergency and I freaked out.
After I went in, I was taken to x-ray room because they thought I was there for dental braces. I explained my problem again and was told that I still needed the x-ray and the doctor will tell me if I can get it fixed or removed after seeing my x-ray. I agreed with that additional charge since it's emergency, again.
After the orthodontist viewing my x-ray, she said, "I can see you have fixed retainer in both upper and lower." Yes, obviously, I have said that from the first beginning and it's really visible that everyone can see it without x-ray image once I open my mouth. I explained the loose retainer again and asked her if I can get it fixed or removed or what I should do now. The very surprising and only solution/advise/answer she gave me is that she can't do anything since she is not my orthodontist. If I need to get it fixed/removed/replaced, I need to go to my original orthodontist. I told her that my orthodontist is not there anymore that's why I came to her. She told me, "then go to your dentist." Done in less than 2 minutes after all the waiting.
I didn't know why I was even there. If they really can't do anything, they should have told me in the beginning and not had me wasting my time and money for really NOTHING.
VERY VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!

The DR was very thorough in explaining my brothers condition (TMJ) She took the timeto exam and explain in a way that I understood. She also extended her professionalism in recommending a specialist that was only 2 blocks away from her office. Her staff was also very courteous and sweet.
