I had been searching for a new dentist because I was tired of traveling for an hour to my old one. Dr. Vanaharam was recommended to me by a friend, and I'm so happy to say she is my new dentist and will be until I leave the DC area. She is professional, informative, and excellent at her work, which I consider an artform. No pain, no waiting, no problems. The office staff is also very professional and helpful.

More about Dr. Roopa Vanaharam, DMD
Education has always been very important to my family and I. I have always pushed myself to be the best in whatever I do. My career started when I earned my bachelor's degree from College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA and my Doctor of Dental Medicine from Tufts University in Boston, where I graduated with honors. My hard work paid off and landed myself on the Dean's List for my performance on the National Boards. I volunteered my services at the Department of Corrections in Concord, New Hampshire for three months. Everyone deserves a smile they can be proud of. I plan to continue working with underserved populations in the future. I subsequently completed a one year advanced education residency in General Dentistry in Boston through Lutheran Medical. The extra year of postgraduate education allows me to perform more complex restorative, cosmetic and prosthodontic cases.
Following my residency, my husband and I moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan where I worked in a private practice office for two years. During this time, I completed advanced training in Clear Correct Orthodontic Aligners and Lumineers and will continue to advance my education when possible. I pride myself in bringing a high degree of care, precision and artistry to my work.
We recently moved from Ann Arbor to Arlington for work and to be closer to family. My husband is a cardiac anesthesiologist at Virginia Hospital Center. We both have jobs that involve numerous responsibilities so we enjoy relaxing together with a good run, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

This was a follow up appointment, similar to getting a filling. Dr. V told me at my check up it would fast and it was. Maybe 20 minutes total. She checked to make sure the area was numb, when I had some sensitivity, she stopped to fix it. Both her and the assistant were very professional, efficient and kind.

I would highly recommend Dr. Vanaharam. She makes visits to the dentist office a no-stress experience, for which I am very grateful. She's kind, and she very clearly communicated everything that was going on with my teeth, which made me feel less anxious. She also paid a lot of attention to make sure I wasn't in pain. Five stars!

Dr. V and the rest of the staff in the office were very friendly and they made me feel very welcomed. I had a great experience for my first visit and I've decided to make this office my family dentist, i'll soon be bringing my kids as well! Dr. V was very sweet and caring, she really showed her concerns and was very detail oriented when speaking to me, she also took her time which is very important! Overall she's awesome!

From the moment I walked in my experience was very pleasant, staff was very friendly & helpful. Dr. V walked me through my treatment and was very knowlegable in explaining my treatment. Overall I would definatley recommed her.
