Dr. Seiichi Yamano is an Associate Professor of Prosthodontics at New York University College of Dentistry (NYUCD). In addition to teaching Prosthodontics, Dr. Yamano directs a research program focused on gene delivery for the management of disease-related symptoms and bone tissue engineering as a clinician/scientist at NYUCD.
Prior to coming to NYUCD, Dr. Yamano received a DMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, completed specialty training in Prosthodontics at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He also obtained a DDS from Nihon University School of Dentistry.
Currently, Dr. Yamano is an active member of numerous dental societies, including the American College of Prosthodontists, the American Association for Dental Research, the International Association for Dental Research, the Academy of Osseointegration, the American Dental Education Association, the New York Academy of Oral Rehabilitation, the Consortium for Translational Orthodontic Research, and the International Academy of Contemporary Dentistry.
In addition, he is Associate Editor of the Journal of Prosthodontic Research, Reviewing Editor of the Oral Diseases, and a member of the Editorial Board of Dentistry: Current Research, the International Journal of Dentistry and Oral Science, the Journal of Biosciences and Medicines, and the International Academy of Contemporary Dentistry. Dr. Yamano has extensively published manuscripts, lectured around the world, and has been awarded peer-reviewed research grants from the National Institutes of Health.
