My experience in Dr. Seth Black's office was comforting and smooth. Staff was extremely friendly and made me feel more relaxed about my wisdom teeth removal. My recovery from this procedure was also phenomenal. I was completely without pain after 4/5 days. Dr. Black also called me the night of the procedure to see how I was holding up which was so thoughtful! They are really helpful in making sure the post-op goes smoothly as well!

Dr. Seth Martin Black attended New York University School of Dentistry in New York. Following graduation he completed a rotating internship at the Manhattan Veterans Administration Hospital and a General Anesthesia Residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Black then completed a Surgical Residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Mount Sinai Hospital and Medical Center in New York.
Dr. Black is a member of the New York State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgeryis a Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and a Diplomate of the American Academy of Pain Management.
Dr. Black is a Police Surgeon proudly providing Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and consultation for the New York Police Department, the New York State Troopers and the Amtrak Police Departments. Dr. Black has also been a consulting Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, speaker and trainer of other physicians for Merck and Company as well as for Allergan, the maker of Botox and facial fillers. He is also a Maxillofacial and Surgical consultant for several dental plans.
Dr. Black is dedicated to teaching his specialty and has been a Clinical Assistant Professor at New York Medical College since 1982. He is active on the Attending Staffs of North Shore University/LIJ-Lenox Hill Hospital and Metropolitan Hospital Center.

Staff and doctor were really helpful with explaining procedures, next steps and my insurance/payment options. I was really impressed with how upfront they were with information (set up a good, trusting relationship). Scheduled a surgery with him immediately after my consultation.

In terms of dentistry, he knows what he's doing. But he has a bravado about him that I didn't particularly like; from my experience, he has a "take it or leave it" personality. I was referred to him because he was one of few specialists covered by my insurance, but I would not go back to him if I didn't have to. During my procedure (two wisdom teeth removal), a cap on another tooth fell out. Instead of giving it back to me so my preferred dentist could take a look at it, he threw it away.

My visit with Dr. Black could not have gone better. I came to him after a very bad experience with a dentist the day before and Dr. Black was very informative and put me completely at ease. His staff is also amazing! I absolutely recommend Dr. Black!

The staff knows their stuff. Dr. Black has a great bedside manner. He doesn't just tell you what to do... He brought me over to the X-rays and explained the need for procedure, the risks, etc. He also build out the pricing and walked me through details. I trust his expertise, but I want to understand his logic and be able to make informed decisions.

I was initially a bit concerned about having my wisdom teeth extracted but Dr. Black did an exceptional job with making the process both easy and relatively painless. He exceeded my expectations ten fold. Dr. Black is very knowledgable, an effective communicator, and has excellent bedside manner. My endorsement is difficult to come by but he has earned it.

Dr. Black's office continues to provide considerate patient care, from the moment I made my appointment to the moment I left. Dr. Blake is always willing to answer my long list of questions and has provided great care for my TMJ pain. In fact, one year after my first visit, I am still following his advice and am happily pain free. Always happy to come in for a check-up in this supportive environment.
