Dr. Stefanie Sunnes grew up in Corbett, Oregon and received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Portland State University. She then left for Boston where she attended Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. She graduated with honors and the Quintessence Award for Clinical Achievement in Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Sunnes moved to Houston in 2010 where she founded Alegria Dental Care.
She is dedicated to the newest advancements in cosmetic dentistry and keeps up-to-date with the latest technologies. Both she and her staff have extensive training and experience in all aspects of general dentistry including cosmetic procedures, periodontal maintenance (continuing care of gums) and root canal therapy. Dr. Sunnes is dedicated to providing careful, beautiful, and comfortable dentistry for the entire family.
When Dr. Sunnes is not practicing her passion of dentistry she spends most of her time with her fur babies, she also loves to read, bake and cook, and experience all Houston has to offer.

She’s so professional, knowledgeable, and just a very nice lady. I’ve been going to her for regular cleaning for years and recently had a tooth extraction. It took 2 minutes tops, and I felt nothing. She’s the best.

Dr. Sunnes is a wonderful dentist. I seeked her care after reading many positive reviews about her, even though her practice was 8 miles from my home. She is very friendly, informative and caring. She did not make me feel judged or lecture me for not sticking to my dental care 100% of the time. She is super careful during exams and procedures, and she is always concerned not to cause any pain or discomfort even during uncomfortable procedures. Her office staff are also very friendly and helpful. I had to move cities and no longer see Dr. Sunnes, but I can only hope to find another dentist that has her professionalism and compassion at that same time!

The experience was great. Dr. Sunnes and her assistant were both very gentle with me, someone who has not been to a dentist in quite a while.
The work was completed quickly, Dr. Sunnes explained every thing to me in advance so there were no surprises and I was mentally prepared for all that took place.

Dr. Sunnes' staff is kind, cheerful, gentle and helpful. She is the same; I needed a fast appointment for a fairly serious dental issue, and she saw me the day after I called. Her assistant offered some valuable advice about insurance, and I found the whole visit anxiety and pain-free. I've found a new dentist!

My family and I love Dr. Sunnes!
She is so friendly and has a very calming demeanor so I feel very relaxed around her. What calms me the most though is knowing that she is very knowledgeable and cares about the quality of her work.
I am not a spring chicken and have been to many dentists and by far Dr. Sunnes is the best!
