Dr. Adam J. Gess is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist, specializing in corneal transplantation, laser refractive surgery, and cataract surgery. His goal is to provide the highest quality care for each patient, and to help them achieve their personal goals for their vision.
A graduate of one of the nation’s most highly-regarded cornea fellowships, Dr. Gess has extensive training in all aspects of corneal and refractive surgery, including LASIK, PRK, Intacs, partial thickness and full-thickness corneal transplantation, refractive lens exchange, phakic intraocular lenses, and complicated cataract surgery.
Dr. Gess sees patients in Washington, D.C.; Tyson’s Corner, Virginia; and Chevy Chase, Maryland. He speaks fluent Spanish. Dr. Gess’s hobbies include travel, outdoor activities, and spending time with his wife and daughter. A former All-American swimmer, he also enjoys swimming for exercise and recreation.

I went in for a routine eye check and they billed it as something else and sent me a bill for hundreds of dollars. I'm having a lot of trouble getting them to fix it especially because Dr. Gess apparently left the practice a couple of weeks after seeing me and I was never informed until I called the office about the billing problem. As of today, the issue is still unresolved.

I was not with Adam Gess because he does not fit contacts. Rochelle is a medical assistant that gave me initial eye tests. She is lovely, smart, personable and going to be an optometrist some day. My eye doctor was amazing and gave excellent advice. Best experience for eye care in years.

Dr. Guess is a professional, very knowledgable ophthalmologist. He is the only one giving a solution to reduce my weekly violent headache that I had since I was 10 years old. My headache has totally disappeared by just wearing special tainted glasses (easy to find) when I feel migraine is coming. Each time he spent time to listen and answer any questions! I could not find better eye doctor! Also, he works at two different locations which is very convenient since my wife and I use both location to meet him.

Overall very good. The office staff was very professional and the equipments were very modern. It was also a very comprehensive exam, felt much less commercial than my previous eye exams at other places (where sometimes I felt like it was more about getting me to buy glasses rather than checking on the health of my eyes)

I was there for a prescription update and thats exactly what I got. He recommended a few follow-up procedures but wasn't pushy. The office is beautiful and clean. The wait time was... well, I was seen before my appointment because I arrived early. Everyone was friendly.

Very nice office staff and great doctor. Also very high tech. No wait, great location. Only concern - if you are first appointment of the day (7:30am) be aware that the building's front doors are locked until 7:30 and there was no way to reach the office since their phones also turn on at 7:30, which was very confusing. The door will automatically unlock at 7:30 and you can then get into the office normally then.
