Dr. Meyer helped our daughter through some ongoing issues that were becoming disruptive to her happiness and a little above our abilities as parents - panic attacks, rumination, negative self-image and clinginess at bedtime. It’s hard to talk about your feelings, especially for a kid, but Dr. M was approachable and learned about things that made our daughter perk up and was motivated by, gaining her trust really quickly. I found her easy to talk to, and came out of most sessions I was involved in feeling like I had a better understanding of what my kid was going through and how to help her. She was flexible with our therapy timeline, responsive by email and helped us as parents along the way. My kid’s anxiety didn’t magically go away but I can’t explain how just UNDERSTANDING, having words for her feelings, being aware of when she is starting to feel panic/anxiety and having coping mechanisms has changed her daily life and ours for the better.
Dr. Alex treated both of my children at different time periods. She was wonderful to work with as a parent, but what astounded me was how at ease my children were with her and how much progress they made. She gave them individualized tools to use to manage their anxiety that they still use to this day. We are so thankful for Dr. Alex!

More about Dr. Alexandria Meyer, PhD

Are you frustrated with the amount of anxiety you feel on a daily basis? Is anxiety getting in the way of living your life? Or maybe your child's anxiety is causing your family stress. I can help! I view anxiety as treatable and provide effective and time-limited therapy to children, adolescents and adults. I LOVE helping anxious people lead more value-oriented (and less fearful!) lives. I have been seeing therapy patients for over a decade, using scientifically-based, cognitive-behavioral (CBT) approaches. I use my background in clinical neuroscience to deliver cutting-edge treatment for anxiety. I have a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Stony Brook University - you may not have heard of it (I hadn't!), but it is actually ranked the the 3rd clinical program in the country, tied with Berkeley :) I completed my clinical internship at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), focusing on anxiety and trauma in children, adolescents, and adults. The beginning of my career was primarily focused on the neuroscience of anxiety. I am passionate about helping anxious people live less fearful and more value-oriented lives! ***Please only book with me if you are looking for help with anxiety and you are located in Florida or California. Also, I am not able to accept any insurance, so only book with me if you are self-pay. Thank you!

My daughter has been a patient of Dr. Meyer for 4 years and has come such a long way with her Anxiety and ADHD. She has conquered middle school, sleep away camp and performing in the school musical using the coping skills she has learned in therapy. Dr Meyer is wonderful at connecting with her patients. She is consistent, kind and very professional. We could not recommend her highly enough.
Dr. Meyer was very helpful and knowledgeable. She was great with my teenage daughter and explained everything in a way both of us could understand. She recommended materials that were very helpful.
