I was running a few minutes late to my appointment and the office staff couldn't be nicer about it! they took it all in their strides like the professionals they are, and were very understanding of my reason s for not being on time. As soon as I'd filled the little paperwork I was asked to fill out, the doctor was ready to see me with a smile.
Dr. Hersh is a warm individual who very clearly cares about her patients. All in all, they've made a wonderful first impression!

Dr. Alissa Hersh is a board certified Allergist and Immunologist treating pediatric and adult patients in Long Island. Having completed her pediatric training at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore and her allergy/immunology fellowship at UMDNJ-Newark, Dr. Hersh served on the faculty of New York-Presbyterian –Columbia Medical Center for the past five years. Dr. Hersh opened her private practice - Allergy & Asthma of the South Shore - in Woodmere, New York in February 2012. Dr. Hersh strives to provide the highest level of care to all of her patients and to develop a team approach where doctor, patient and families work together to improve the management, and treatment, and of their disease.
Dr. Hersh offers a variety of services for both pediatric and adult patients. Dr. Hersh is an expert in the diagnosis and management of seasonal and perennial allergies, food allergies, drug allergies, eczema, asthma, contact dermatitis, sinusitis/rhinitis, and immunodeficiency.
Her office performs allergy testing, pulmonary function testing, immunotherapy, drug allergy testing, and oral food challenges when deemed appropriate.

I was seen right away as there were no other patients there at the time. She was so kind and explained everything to us (me and my 8 year old son -the actual patient). She was thorough and made sure we understood everything.
